Genesis of Freehold eagerly awaits the arrival of the heralded 2022 Genesis Electrified G80 sport sedan EV. Genesis' inaugural electric vehicle is the first of more EV models to be produced by Genesis in the effort for more sustainable transportation. This model is propelled by two (2) front and rear mounted 182 hp (136 kW) electric motors powered by a floor-mounted 87.2 kWH battery that is expected to produce a range of 265 miles. On demand All Wheel Drive is available while the G80 cruises in Rear Wheel Drive mode until more power is needed to each wheel. Charging the battery to 80% takes approximately 22 minutes when plugged into the fastest charging stations. The G80 employs Hyundai's rapid charging system that supports 400 to 800 volt infrastructure. Its drive motor and inverter can boost voltage from 400 volts to 800 volts so there is no need for another inverter when using a charging station rated for 800 volts. Pricing has not been announced but the first models are expected to start at $60,000.
